Tasmania is well-known for its walking and hiking tracks, especially on the west coast, where you can even take a helicopter in and walk for days, or even weeks, if you're up for it. Cradle Mountain and the Great Lakes are other popular spots. But there are also some great trails around Hobart, and you can easily lose yourself in these for hours. One of my favourites is the Alum Trail, which meanders along Kingston Beach back towards Hobart. You get some great views, like this one of Kingston Beach from above. It was a cold day when I painted this—only 3 degrees, luckily, I remembered to pack my gloves.
