Sunset, Three Thumbs Lookout (Orford) (2022)

I camped overnight in my car near Three Thumbs Lookout in Orford on the east coast of Tasmania and painted a number of studies while I was there. As the sun dipped beyond the horizon, a subtle glow lingered for a moment, that’s what I tried to capture here. Though the sun had vanished, its presence remained, like something half-remembered, still warm in the mind.
