This is my grandma’s driveway, painted in 2019. It brings back memories of hunting for caterpillars, backyard cricket games, flying paper planes, and just lazing around, the simple, good stuff in life. If you compare this painting to others I’ve done of her house, you’ll notice the tree in the background. In 2007, it was already pretty big, but it looks like it got cut back around 2017. Still, it’s a stubborn tree, it grew back quite a bit in just two years. Rainer Maria Rilke said, “A fruit tree doesn’t rush to bear fruit,” but this one seems like it was in a bit of a hurry.
